A sporadic ruderal which is limited for now to the north-west corner of the country (Maramures, Bihor and northern Cluj county), and to Banat and Valachia. It was first mentioned in Romania in 1910 at Orsova along the Danube and yet at the half of the XXth century there was only one locality more (Cluj at 'Sodorat' on the bank of Somesu Mic river). Since then the plant slowly propagated in the warmer parts of the country from west to east.
